A more significant
pair of African-American players in MLB history would be hard
to find. Jackie Robinson was a hard charging second baseman
who broke baseball's color barrier on April 15, 1947, debuting
as a member of the Brooklyn Dodgers. With Robinson, the
Dodgers won six N.L. pennants in his 10 seasons. The
first African-American player in the A.L., meanwhile, was Larry Doby,
a power-hitting center fielder and a key member of Cleveland's
pennant winners in 1948 and '54. Doby led the A.L.
twice in homers. Upper Deck salutes this pair of historic
ball players with this Legendary Jersey Numbers Collectible showcasing 6''
replica jersey numbers of Robinson's uniform No. 42 and Doby's
No. 14. The framed item measures 21'' wide by 16''
high. Limited to 250.
